Purpose
The Top Keeshond Event Committee
Approval has been granted by the American Kennel Club for the Top Keeshond Event to be held during the week of the Keeshond national specialty. The event will take place the evening of Friday, May 27, 2005 in the main ballroom of the host hotel. The event will be open to the public at no charge.
Eligibility
1. To be eligible for this competition, a dog must be ranked in the top 25 Keeshonden for the year 2004. In addition, if the top 5 ranking bitches do not appear on the above stated list, they will also be deemed eligible to compete in this event. Tabulation for eligibility will be based on Keeshonden defeated as the result of Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex wins from January 1, 2004 through December 31, 2004. 2. All owners of the qualifying Keeshonden will be sent invitations to participate in the Top Keeshond Event. Entry forms and fees must be returned by the deadline. 3. To compete in this event, all owners and co-owners of finalists must be in good standing with the AKC. 4. All particpants agree to abide by AKC and Top Keeshond Event rules. 5. Eligible spayed and neutered Keeshonden may compete in this event.

Judging
Catalogs
A catalog will be prepared exclusively for this event. Catalogs may be pre-ordered at a cost of $5 each, with a limited number available at the door. Catalogs may also be pre-ordered and mailed at a cost of $10 each.
The catalog will contain a two page spread for each eligible dog. It will also include the entire list of eligible dogs, a sample score sheet, judging procedure and a profile of each judge. The entry fee will include the two page ad. Non-entered finalists may also be advertised for a nominal fee.
Filming the event
Awards to be given
Each entrant will receive a rosette, a catalog and a certificate. The winner will receive a large Top Keeshond Event rosette and an award. Co-owners and breeders of entered finalists may purchase additional rosettes at the cost of $10 each by noting this information on the entry form. No additional rosettes may be purchased after the closing date for the event. No rosettes will be mailed, and must be picked up by the conclusion of the 2005 National Specialty. The top award will be presented at the conclusion of judging.
The Top Keeshond Event will be video taped and will be available for sale at a later date. A copy of the video tape will be provided to the Buckeye Keeshond Club, and the Keeshond Club of America for historical purposes.
